Daddy's Great Catch

Riley was Nemo for Halloween.  She was precious in her costume and loved to tell us that she was Nemo.  She also enjoyed pointing out his eyes, nose, and mouth.  Jude was also Nemo (more on that in the next post), and Woody and I were anglers.  That might be a little disturbing to some, but we thought it was cute.  :o)

"Daddy's Great Catch"
Riley loved posing for this picture.  She wanted to be held upside down a lot after this.  We had a great Halloween, complete with Millie's costume party and a football game which will all be covered in later posts.  But for now, lunch needs to be made and consumed before nap time!

Hollywood

The latest item we do not leave home without: sunglasses.  This $5 investment has completely been worth the money.

When we get into the car, she must have Kitty and her sunglasses.  When I give them to her, she is really good about putting them on the right way (right above her ears and not upside down).  Then she says "MommaDaddy?" Because she wants us to put ours on too.

Since my hands are usually full when we get out of the car, I end up taking pictures of her shade-wearing while we are in route to our destination (at stop lights, not while driving).

I think one of the cutest things about her fashion savviness is that she wears them indoors too.  When we were in Canton, she wore them through all of the tents and inside the buildings.  Everyone that crossed our paths had comments about how cute/stylish/diva-esque this was.

And when paired with cute outfits, we just can't go wrong.

Fall Decor

Every year I look at all of the cute holiday decorations at the Craft fairs and at Canton's First Monday Trade Days.  And every year I think, "That's a lot of money.  Maybe next year."  And yet, every year I don't hesitate to buy hay (or straw), pumpkins, and mums to put outside.  So I'll spend $50 without batting an eye on decorations that have to be thrown away, but won't spend the same amount on something I can use year after year.  Hhmmm.  What is wrong with me?

We were all sitting outside enjoying these new decorations and Woody snapped some pictures of the kids.  That's one happy boy.

Cutest little outfit ever.  Too bad her sassy boots didn't make their appearance in this picture.

Riley wants to hold Jude and take him up the stairs here.  I don't think he is very into it.

So we'll settle for sitting on the stairs instead, and all parties involved are very happy with this compromise.

Boxes of Toys

We have oodles and oodles of toys, but we'd rather play in our old diaper boxes.

Riley decided Jude should join in the fun too.  And he did.  Did I mention that Riley is wearing big girl panties here?  Well, she is.  It was 30 minutes before bath time and we thought "Why not?"  You know why don't you?  Well, congrats.  Wish you would have clued me in.
At this point, Jude is pretty ready to get out.  And then, it happens.
They start both crying at precisely the same time.  "Hmm...", we both think, "Why are they both crying at the same time?  All fingers are accounted for.  Maybe someones toes are squished or something."  How dense are we?  So we get both kids out and learn that Riley has pee peed all over both of them.  I should give her credit, we aren't really doing the potty training thing yet, but EVERY time she gets in training undies, she pees in them (and she is usually only in them for less than 10 minutes at a time).  It's like her bottom doesn't even know what to do in cotton.  At this point, it's 15 minutes before bathtime, so bathtime came early. But before the accident, the box was SO much fun for them to play in.  I think I'm going to get her a large box and a couple of markers for her birthday this year and let that imagination run wild.

5 Months

5 Months Old, October 6, 2010.  Jude is now excited to roll over and grab fist-fuls of hair at every opportunity.  He loves solids and is eating very well.  His sleeping is getting better.  I do not want to brag too much about this as it might end the streak.

I love this picture.  Riley just has to be in the picture, so we put her next to him and this is what he does.  You can almost know exactly what he is thinking.  "Gosh mom.  I can never get a picture alone because she always wants in it.  Can't I just have a whole photo shoot without her getting in the way?  I'll just lean over and look very uninterested and unhappy about this, maybe she'll take the hint."

But then just seconds later, he decides he is happy to be sitting next to his big sister.  Or maybe it was because we moved him so he wasn't falling into the couch anymore.  These are the smiles that Woody gets out of them when he comes home from work.

Boots

Just after buying these for Riley, she did not want them anywhere near her feet.  And then, she wore them to church.  She got so many compliments that she did not want to take them off of her feet until bath time that night.

I must say, I think they are the cutest boots ever.  If they had 'em in my size, we would definitely be sporting the same footwear.
The next morning, she came out of her bedroom carrying her boots (her equivalent of asking me to put them on her) and Kitty.  Luckily, they matched her PJs perfectly...so much so that I didn't even care that this is what she wore to Walmart for our weekly grocery gettin' trip.  And a diva is born.

Razorback games

We used to love going to Razorback games.  That is, until we had babies.  "Fans of all ages" must have tickets for the games and we are NOT paying $55 per child to go to a game they could care less about.  But I think we get the best deal.  We tailgate, then sit at the tailgate to watch the game (because my dad hooks up a TV for us to watch it).  If the game is an evening game, we just go home and miss all of the traffic!  I'm pretty sure it's a win-win situation. One of Riley's favorite parts of the tailgate (besides the endless amounts of edible goodies) is the Baggo game.  And she's so good at it.  :o)
Mom and dad bought this razorback in Canton, TX 5 years ago.  It's always a big hit as it sits on top of their Denali.  But before he was hoisted up, she got to ride him.

And Millie usually gets to come play too!  For some reason, they both LOVED playing in the back of the SUV.  They both cried when we took them out for lunch.

I'm pretty sure Jude can be happy anywhere.  He got to sit in laps all day.  We brought his pack-n-play for nap time so he wouldn't get cranky, but then we forgot a paci...and Hog Heaven didn't have any.  Oh goodness.  But true to his form, he was happy anyway.  Nap time was a little challenging, but after a few minutes, he relented and fell into a deep slumber.  I was a little bit jealous because it was a perfect temperature for a nice nap outside.

And he woke up happy....

And then was even happier after his second lunch.

The Goodyear Blimp was there.  Riley liked to point and yell when she saw it.

She too succumbed to the lovely fall afternoon and fell asleep in Woody's lap.  I'm not sure who enjoyed
this nap time more, her or him.

This is out of order, but this picture was not posed for at all (and I'm pretty proud of myself for capturing this moment).  Both girls spent some quality time in their daddy's lap while watching the game.  What else could a little girl want?  Daddy, juice, snacks, football, and friends.  What a great day!!!
