Switching teams?

I am a Twilight fanatic.  I have read all of the books 2 or 3 times.  I cannot get enough of the vampire love story.  Yes, it's complete fantasy and unrealistic, but isn't that really why we all love it so much?

Anywoo, last night Brooke and I went to see New Moon. ~side note: last year, when watching Twilight, I was 8 months pregnant.  This year, I am 4 months pregnant.  Next year, should Eclipse come out in November or whenever it comes out for that matter, I will NOT NOT NOT be pregnant.~ I have always been a staunch Team Edward supporter, until last night.  I might be quivering near the line now.  I read Jacob to have a crush, but after watching the movie, I think I may not have been giving him enough emotional credit.  (and I don't think I can ignore the fact that Jacob is no longer a boy.  He has become a man/werewolf, and the short hair cut helped a lot. He definitely has Edward beat in the physicality department.)

It could be the pregnancy hormones, but I teared up a few times last night while watching Bella scream from nightmares, and Jacob's face crumbling because Bella was leaving for Italy.  Oh, tugs at my heart strings!

So I may be switching teams, although it's not final. When is the third movie coming out?  Hopefully I won't have to wait too long.

My favorite things, continued

How could I have not written the best things in my world?  Let's blame it on "pregnancy brain".

~Riley's kisses.  Melt my heart, oh little slobbery angel pecks.  She leans in to my face with her mouth wide open so I can kiss her.  She only kissed me for a while, but now she is kissing Woody too and of course he goes from a strong macho man to a lump of clay in her hands.
~Riley's reach.  I love it when she reaches for me.  Then she leans into my head to cuddle with me.  That girl just lights up my world.

I KNOW I am forgetting lots of favorite things, but I'll stop now...at least for a little while...so I can go wash Riley's sippy cups while she is napping.

A few more of my favorite things

Yeppers, I've been watching The Sound of Music again.  How can those songs not put you in a good mood (as long as you don't think about the historical significance of the Austrian Anschluss)?  I know you want to go look that up.  You can google it, I spelled it right, I promise.

Anywho, a few of my favorite things of late are:
~Riley's baby breath.  LOVE IT.  I don't know what it is about her leaning in to my face and breathing on me, but it is so sweet and cherished.  Maybe its just the idea that I get to enjoy those intimate moments with my daughter everyday. Thank you Lord that I get to stay at home with her.
~Nong Shim Korean noodle bowls- my favorite time to enjoy this sodium-filled spicy dish of goodness is around 9am.  Pregnant much?  Oh look at the time, only a few more minutes until I enjoy this late breakfast.
~Riley's personality has blossomed within the last few weeks.  She giggles at herself, me, the dogs, the wind...she is so easily amused.
~She climbs into my lab with one of her sesame street books for me to read to her.  When I am reading, she'll look up into my face and smile so big.  Sigh, so special.
~I love this fall weather that has been so beautiful this week.  We are going to the Arkansas game this weekend and Riley gets to join us.  I will remember sunscreen this time, and she'll probably get a new pink hog hat.
~I love that Woody gets up at 6:40 every morning to get Riley out of bed and they watch about 15 minutes of cartoons while I get her breakfast ready.  They get to enjoy some good daddy/daughter time and I get to spend more time in my favorite room of the house (see last post), and make breakfast without a 17 pounder on my hip.

What a blessed life I have.

My favorite room

I have recently decided that I spend way too much time with/ in my kitchen.  I'm pretty sure that I am in there cleaning or cooking (or both) during EVERY one of Riley's naps.  I do not exaggerate here.  I would really like to boycott that area for 24 hours.  Just 24 hours, that's all I ask.  But will that ever happen?  Definitely not, unless I get contaminated with this swine flu everyone is freaking out about. (more on that later)  Instead, I will continue to clean it at least twice a day and cook in it more times than that.  I mean, really. If I don't do it, it won't get done as that is part of my non-compensated job description.

With Riley eating more table foods, I cook all the time!  But her little belly only holds so much, so I have to make small amounts of steamed carrots, sweet peas, broccoli, etc.  Don't get me wrong, I make enough for a 3 day supply, but it still leaves me in the kitchen multiple hours in a day.  Her current favorite is beef and mashed garlic potatoes. ~side note, that girl eats like nothing I've ever seen, and she still can't gain an ounce!  She has been stuck around 17.5 pounds for 3 months now!  Yes, I am feeding her whole milk yogurt, cheese, avacadoes, and everything else the dr recommended to 'fatten her up'.  I am beginning to think she may just be a little girl.

Back to the point, I'm afraid that if I don't give the kitchen and it's appliances a break, my steaming pot is going to destroy itself out of complete exhaustion from being used every single day.  But alas, the dishwasher needs to be emptied and Riley's highchair needs a massive cleaning.  So away I go, again, into my favorite room in the house.
